So in A/P Hawkins opinion wat i'm currently doing, finding scales to measure interactions, is essentially correct.

my problem is that i find the definition is wrong, how can u equate social well-being with simply social interactions. So now i've 2 dig further & find how they came up wif the definition. was there any study tt established that social well-being is social interactions.

i need 2 get this point across to the RAs.

now i can write the email.

i shld have done a beta job at looking at the study's history but i didnt....i was busy trying my best to brush up on the topic....i was trying very hard not 2 look stupid....

i shld have had a beta grasp o e study if i studied e history of the study.

now i've 2 b thick-skinned & Is social interactivity = social well-being? it then really depends o definition. What you mean by well-being
KJ: innocence says:
if you tell me his well-being means how well a person interacts, then yeah, it would have to be yes.
Annie says:
ok
Annie says:
but tt's my problem
Annie says:
i tink tt definition is not rite
Annie says:
e definition was passed down fr e previous person doing e student
KJ: innocence says:
so what is it that you wish to measure specifically?
Annie says:
e social well-being loh
Annie says:
they define it as measuring how well e child interacts wif others
Annie says:
then i can't find any lit search tt supports e pt tt social well being is e interaction
KJ: innocence says:
then I can't help anymore...
KJ: innocence says:
ask other psychologists lor. psychs are specialists, so your RA may not be a social psych-ist
Annie says:
but in ur opinion social well-being shldn't b juz measuring interactions rite?
KJ: innocence says:
No. How well a person interacts, may not equate to how well a person fits the culture or situation. So even though I can interact very well with my friends, I may hate school for the simple reason that I don't like studying.
Annie says:
but socially, u r doing gd
Annie says:
even though u dun like studying
KJ: innocence says:
I guess that's correct
Annie says:
dun mind if i put it up on CSEWS rite?
KJ: innocence says:
go ahead, but I'm not a psych-ist, so it won't carry weight
Annie says:
no worries la...
Annie says:
all these r tinking aloud

when we measure interactions/relationships between child & others, r we measuring e social well-being o e child?

fr e limited lit search tt i've done, interactions/relationships r only related to well-being......they may predict but is not exactly e well-being.....

but in hawkins' opinion when we measure the interactions/relationships, we r measuring the social well-being......

Man, P.
